Extension of timeline for submission of applications by existing schools under some categories of affiliation for the session 2024- 25 in SARAS 4.0

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular regarding the extension of the timeline for submission of applications by existing schools under some categories of affiliation for the session 2024-25 in SARAS 4.0. The timeline for submission of applications was initially set for 30th June 2023, but it was extended to 31st July 2023 for all existing schools. However, due to issues faced by schools in submitting applications, the timeline for Extension of Affiliation, Section Increase, and Permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school was extended by one month to 31st August 2023.The CBSE has now decided to further extend the timeline for submission of online applications for the session 2024-25 in SARAS 4.0 and updating OASIS portal up to 15th September 2023. It is important to note that the extension of the timeline is only applicable to the following categories of applications:

• Extension of Affiliation
• Section Increase
• Permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school

The circular has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.SARAS 4.0, or the School Affiliation Reengineered Automation System, is an integrated affiliation system that allows schools to apply for affiliation, submit examination-related data, and update their school information. Schools can use SARAS 4.0 to submit applications under various categories of affiliation for the session 2024-25.To submit an application under the Extension of Affiliation category, schools can follow the steps below:

• Log in to the SARAS 4.0 portal using the school’s affiliation number and password.
• Click on the “Affiliation” tab and select “Extension of Affiliation” from the dropdown menu.
• Fill in the details of the application, such as the name of the school, the affiliation number, and the reason for seeking an extension of affiliation.
• Upload the necessary documents, such as the school’s infrastructure details, the details of the teaching staff, and the details of the non-teaching staff.
• Click on the “Submit” button to submit the application.

To submit an application under the Section Increase category, schools can go to the SARAS portal (CBSE Affiliation unit) and complete the process as per the rules and regulations.To submit an application under the Permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school category, schools can follow the steps below:

• Log in to the SARAS 4.0 portal using the school’s affiliation number and password.
• Click on the “Affiliation” tab and select “Permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school” from the dropdown menu.
• Fill in the details of the application, such as the name of the school, the affiliation number, and the reason for seeking permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school.
• Upload the necessary documents, such as the land documents, the building plan, and the NOC from the local authorities.
• Click on the “Submit” button to submit the application.

In conclusion, the CBSE has extended the timeline for submission of applications by existing schools under some categories of affiliation for the session 2024-25 in SARAS 4.0. The extension is only applicable to the Extension of Affiliation, Section Increase, and Permission to increase/decrease/correction of land area of school categories. Schools can use SARAS 4.0 to submit their applications and follow the steps provided in the portal.
