The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular to all affiliated schools regarding the updating of Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) data and filling up the details of permitted sections. The Board has introduced a new category link on SARAS for the increase/decrease of land area of affiliated schools. However, schools have faced issues while applying in this category and seeking updates of sections with/without land area change. Some of the issues include zero sections appearing in IX-XII classes, unable to update sections in OASIS, and OASIS data edited but not being saved.
The system has been further streamlined, and schools can now correct/update the data in OASIS. If the school wants to increase the number of sections, it may go to the SARAS portal (CBSE Affiliation unit) and complete the process as laid down for the Section Increase category. Similarly, if the land area mentioned in OASIS is incorrect, the schools may apply for correction in Land Area in the SARAS portal in Land increase/decrease/correction category. Thereafter, the schools may proceed to update the relevant columns in OASIS.
It is also informed that per section intake shall be limited to 40 students, as mentioned in the Affiliation Bye-laws. This limit is extended to 45 only in cases of direct admission made in classes X and XII. The schools should complete changes in section/land area by July 31, 2023. Direct admission for the academic session 2023-24 will be done online, and details will be communicated shortly.
In conclusion, the CBSE has streamlined the system for updating OASIS data and filling up the details of permitted sections. Schools can now correct/update the data in OASIS and apply for correction in Land Area in the SARAS portal. The per section intake is limited to 40 students, and schools should complete changes in section/land area by July 31, 2023.
