Competency Focused Education and Assessment is a new initiative by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India, as per the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP). The Board has released practice papers in all major subjects of Classes X and XII to facilitate students in solving more application-based questions of higher-order thinking skills and enhance their conceptual understanding of topics. However, it has come to the notice of the Board that schools and students are being asked to access the CBSE practice papers from certain private publisher’s sites, which is misleading. The public is advised not to be misled by any claims and promotions and to download the papers free of charge from the official CBSE website.
